Final Day to Get Gothic Horror Team-Up on Kickstarter - 7-Page Preview Inside
Read a 7-page preview, then pledge before 8:00 p.m. Central!
Two weeks ago, I launched Gothic Horror Team-Up: Frankenstein’s Monster + Cthulhu on Kickstarter, and I’m grateful when I proclaim it to be a successful crowdfunding campaign. It met its initial funding goal within 36 hours and was heavily trafficked, as evidenced by its place atop the Kickstarter Comics category for its first few days on the platform. What’s more, Kickstarter staff selected Gothic Horror Team-Up as a ‘Project We Love’, the first application of that once common accolade in nearly a year.
Now, as we stand half-a-day from the campaign’s end, Gothic Horror Team-Up is close to doubling its initial funding goal and cracking the 100 backer plateau. If you’ve not yet pledged this Vertigo-style teaming of two icons of gothic horror, I hope you’ll consider doing so before 8:00 p.m. Central tonight. This is not only one of my favorite stories I’ve ever crafted, but it’s also gorgeously, meticulously illustrated by Guilherme Medeiros and colored by Alivon Ortiz.
The Story of Gothic Horror Team-Up
Gothic Horror Team-Up is a series of one-shot, 24-page comics featuring the apocalyptic adventures of unlikely allies from across the range of gothic horror. We begin with Frankenstein’s Monster teaming up with the dreaming old one, Cthulhu, and in the most bizarre way possible.
Obsessed with but one dream, that of a loving father, Frankenstein’s Monster falls under the dreaming thrall of the Great Old One, Cthulhu, and is drawn to the sleeping god’s submerged tomb city of R’lyeh, where he must defeat a plot by corrupted deities to wake Cthulhu and steal his maddening dreams to wield them as weapons to annihilate humanity from the Earth!
